The Managing Director of Abrams CarSharing Advisors, Julian Espiritu joined ACG in January 2009. A veteran of the auto rental and CarSharing industry for over 20 years, including as an executive with industry leader Zipcar. While at Zipcar he helped pioneer the concept of CarSharing in the United States and built a thriving business model in the New York metropolitan area. Within a four-year period, demand and service grew by over 1,000 percent with over 1,400 green vehicles in over 300 locations. As a result, the region achieved operational profitability. At the end of Julian's tenure at Zipcar, the New York metropolitan area became the largest CarSharing market in the world. In addition to establishing CarSharing as a LEED accredited program, Julian played a key role in introducing CarSharing to state and local governments, educational institutions, developers and mass transit organizations. In 2008, he developed and formulated the CarSharing business model,infrastructure and brand for Mint, NY. Finally, in January 2009, he joined forces with Neil Abrams and launched Abrams Carsharing Advisors. This unit will provide CarSharing advisory services to businesses, institutions, and government agencies.
